How to Build a Two Sided Plyo Wall with Wheels

Building a 2 Sided Plyo Wall w/ Wheels

This two sided wall with wheels is a versatile way to help implement plyo care into your facility, with your team, or on your own with the flexibility to move and somewhat store when more open space is needed.

I’m not a carpenter but being an entrepreneur we learn how to do many different tasks as we wear many hats within our company. We are also built to love trial and error, which is why you’ll see some small differences in these instructions  than in the pictures that I post below. If you have more woods talent or knowledge than I do this won’t take you very long, although I would definitely plan a few hours and don’t be afraid to dive it and get it done! #WorkWins #BeDifferent

What you’ll need:

Circular Saw

Drill

Measuring Tape

¾ Inch Plywood 4×8 (2)

Horse Stall Mats (2)

2x4x8’ (4)

2x4x4’ (2)

4x4x54” (2) or (screw 3 2×4’s together)

2x4x3’ (2)

2x4x57” (4)

Wheels (4)

3-1/2in x 10 ga Deckmate Star Coated Screws (3lbs)

Fender washers that fit these screws. (50)

Tip: don’t be bashful with screws

Step 1:

Lay the first 4×8 piece of plywood on the ground. Place 2 of the 2x4x8’ pieces along each long edge of the plywood. Lay the next 2x4x8’ pieces evenly between the edges.

Step 2:

Place the second sheet of plywood over the top, make sure all pieces stay flush along the edges and screw everything together from both sides for maximize security or need. The wall portion is almost done!

Step 3:

Place your first horse stall mat where you want it on one side of your wall. Use washers and screw your horse stall mat to the wall. Repeat on the other side.

Step 4:

Now we’ll start on the base. Your 4x4x54” pieces will combine to be your base. Drill a wheel at each end of both pieces.

Step 5:

The base should be “square” so that you can create firm 90 degree angles without shifting when you move it, we will use our 2×4 x 4 foot pieces to connect the two sides of the base with screws. The measurements on this can vary, we centered ours and made them with an 8” gap between them, the larger the gap the more square and sturdy your base will be for your very heavy wall.

Step 6:

With the base done we want to build the beginning of the frame to place the wall into. You will now center your 2×4 x 3 foot pieces perpendicular from the base on each side and drill them in.

Step 7:

You will now place your wall on your base and drill the 2×4 x 3 foot pieces into the center of the wall edges on both sides with as many screws as you need or feel comfortable with so that it is sturdy without you needing to hold it.

Step 8:

Now that your wall is free standing we need to provide support joists so that we can apply force with things such as plyo balls, med balls etc. You will take your first 2x4x57” piece and screw it to the bottom corner of one of the base ends on an angle so that the top matched up with the center of the plyo wall edge. Screw it down at both points.

Your next piece will need to be cut at the end to match up flush with your first piece see below.

Step 9:

Time to throw stuff at it!
